Library
The Library Reference Staff, in cooperation with the Research Project Advisor and the module instructors, will provide instruction in basic information gathering, including basics of database searching and critical thinking skills. These lifelong learning skills are essential preparation to effectively function in this “information society.” You are encouraged to utilize the services and resources of the library. Catalog and other resources are also available online.
With your Biola ID number and Portal password, most of our databases are remotely accessible (from their home or work networked computers). Many journal articles and reference works are available online, full text. Interlibrary Loan requests may be sent by e-mail. Using the Interlibrary Request forms, they can ask for books or photocopies of our paper journals not available online to be sent by courier to the Education Center.
At each Education Center, a small library is maintained. Please contact the Center Director for policies and procedures on access. Courier delivery of books and journal articles from the Biola Library is also available. A list of nearby libraries, including local UC and Cal State libraries, is available (along with policies on their use) from your Education Center.
